Questions due in writing to Engineer (jcribelar@structurepoint.com) by 12:00 pm CST on Monday, December 2, 2024. This work shall include, but is not limited to, the construction of necessary infrastructure for site preparation for 37 single-family lots, eight duplex lots, and one commercial lot to include the grading, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, streets, sidewalks, and dry utilities in the City of Hammond, Lake County, Indiana. This work shall be completed by October 1, 2025. Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable certified check or cashier's check made payable to the City of Hammond Board of Public Works and Safety or an acceptable Bid Bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid price executed by an incorporated surety company in good standing and qualified to do business in the State of Indiana. A performance bond and payment bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required. Standard Indiana Form 96 (Revised 2009) which includes non-collusion affidavit will be required. Contractors submitting a bid for City construction projects must subscribe to the Indiana Plan and a joint apprenticeship and training program for that project if their bid is accepted and provide proof of same before any payments are made. Each bidder must ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, creed, color, sex or national origin and each bidder must conform with the antidiscrimination provisions of IC 5-16-6. An Affirmative Action Statement must be submitted at time of bid. All Bidders must be properly licensed in the City of Hammond at the time bids are received. No bidder may withdraw his proposal for a period of 60 days following the date set for receiving bids. The City of Hammond Board of Public Works and Safety reserves the right to retain any and all bids for a period of not more than 60 days, and said bids shall remain in full force and effect during said time. The City of Hammond Board of Public Works and Safety further reserves the right to waive informalities and to award the contract to any Bidder all to the advantage of the City of Hammond Board of Public Works and Safety or to reject all bids.
