McDonald via email at MCDONALDS@worcesterma.gov Gravel shall conform to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts DPW standard specifications for highways and bridges latest edition - Section M1.03.0 Type B. Gravel Borrow shall consist of inert material that is hard, durable stone and coarse sand, free from loam and clay, surface coatings and deleterious materials. Gradation requirements for gravel shall be determined by AASHTO-T11 and T-27 and shall conform to the following: Sieve Designation Percent Passing 1/2 in. No. 4 No. 50 No. 200 50-85 40-75 8-28 0 - 10 Maximum size of stone in gravel shall be as follows: M1.03.0 Type B 3 inches largest dimension Vendor to submit with bid a materials certification from an approved testing lab stating that the gravel meets specifications. Before contract award, a DPWP representative shall obtain a sample from the vendor's pit for specification verification. The City reserves the right to perform random tests during the contract period.
