The Georgia BioScience Training Center is a 50,000-sq.-ft. building that opened in 2015 and is dedicated to supporting research, technology transfer, and comprehensive, customized workforce training for bioscience and biomanufacturing industries. The facility includes administrative areas, classrooms, computer labs, a large multi-purpose room, a maintenance training space, analytic lab, a simulated gowning space with lockers and storage. The Pilot Lab is equipped with manufacturing-scale biomanufacturing equipment requiring appropriate cleaning for stainless steel. The GBTC requires additional consideration due to its status as a signature, showcase facility. Serving the biotech sector requires that it reflect the cleanliness and sophistication of the bio-manufacturing, bio-pharmaceutical industry. The public areas mostly have a terrazzo composite finish on the floors, and floor-to ceiling glass walls encircling a landscaped exterior space that is the center piece of the Center. The building was honored with an Excellence Award as they best Built Project by the American Institutes of Architects Georgia. The initial term of the contract(s) shall be from the date of award until the end of the State's current fiscal year. The State's fiscal year is from July 1st through June 30th. The State Entity shall possess Four (4) one (1) year option(s) to renew.
