Invitation to bid a bathroom remodel project for the Downtown Rock Island Library Branch located at 401 19th Street, Rock Island. Please refer to the attachments for the full scope of work. Contractors who have submitted bids may attend but are not required to do so. A bid tabulation shall be posted online afterward. All questions shall be directed to the Construction Officer at 309-732-2906. The bidder shall submit a project plan using the design standards below that is in compliance with all applicable The City of Rock Island, EPA, and State of Illinois regulations as well as all local building and zoning codes. The plan must include a clear project timeline and budget with line item costs. The contractor shall act as the general contractor for the project using subcontractors as required. Subcontractors that will be required should be clearly identified in the project plan. All ADA rules applied shall follow the 2018 Illinois Accessibility Code. This project will be done while the library remains open. Daily clean up is required making a safe and clutter free project. o Set up dust containment and safety barriers keeping the public out. o Demolition the 1st floor bathrooms. o Construct new ADA paths of egress. ADA fixtures and specified fixture heights. o Install New filtered drinking and bottle station. o Install hand dryers in all the bathrooms. o Tile floors or similar products for wet high traffic areas. o Floor drains in the new bathrooms. o Storage closet in Men's restroom. o Mop closet in the Women's restroom. o Feminine dispenser in the women's restroom. o All Lights on motion sensors. o Automated plumbing fixtures (faucet's, urinals, and water closets) o Automated exhaust fans. o All gender ADA restroom. o ADA grab bars in all restrooms. o Soap dispensers in all three restrooms. o Lockable multiple Toilet paper holders installed in all stalls o Stall dividers with lockable doors. o Bathroom walls tiled or other durable easy cleanable surface material. o New Mirrors in all three restrooms over the countertops. o Needle hazmat dispensers in restrooms.
