Site work for a mixed-use development in Lincoln Park, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
Reference Number 0000368366 The Lincoln Park Downtown Development Authority (hereinafter referred to as "DDA") is seeking a firm/company to create a pocket park at 1562 Fort Street, located in the downtown area of Lincoln Park. We have already put together the construction drawings, specifications, and layout plan, and are looking for a company to bring the plans to life. *The DDA reserves the right to waive any irregularity, accept or reject any or all bids, accept or reject partial bids, split any or all bids, and accept proposals that are in the best interest of and to the advantage of the DDA. The bid award may not be based solely upon the lowest pricing, other factors such as references, equipment, qualifications, and the needs of the DDA may be considered. - A major part of the building of this pocket park is the concrete. The construction drawings have perfectly sketched out exactly what we are looking for. All of the drawings and instructions will be included as attachments in this bid package. Additionally, because winter is approaching and the weather is no longer conducive to the proper curing of concrete, all *construction work will begin in the spring*. The exact timeline for the official start time and conclusion of the work will be coordinated with the winning bidder. However, because this is an ARPA funded project, the contract with the winning firm will be signed before the end of 2024. - Once the timeline is established and agreed upon between the DDA and the selected firm, a performance bond will be put in place to prevent unnecessary project delays. - The selected firm will have their bid thoroughly researched by the DDA before they are chosen to determine if they are fit to handle all aspects of the job. - Another major part of the building of this pocket park is gardening. *The DDA may choose to have their current gardening contractors take on this task, but we are still requesting that all bidders submit, along with their overall project estimates, a separate tally, just for the gardening part of this project*. - The remaining part of the building of this pocket park is the equipment. Just like with the concrete and gardening, instructions will be provided as an attachment explaining the exact equipment we are looking for. For example, we are looking for solar LED bollard lights; on page 5 of the Pocket Park construction drawings, we have detailed the exact type of lights and manufacturer to reach out to when the time comes to obtain them. Other equipment includes chairs, tables, bike racks, all of which have detailed instructions for the exact products we are looking to obtain. - Although construction will not start until the spring, the selected firm is expected to begin reaching out to manufacturers and obtaining materials once the contract is signed and all throughout the winter months to be ready to go once the weather breaks. - In your bid, please include references, website, and a printed portfolio of some of the work that you have done. - In your bid, please include a printed copy of your general liability insurance. Such insurance shall be in an amount not less than $1,000,000. The selected firm will be required to add the DDA and the city of Lincoln as "additional insured" on your insurance policy, but that will occur AFTER the firm is selected in the contract phase. - For any inquiries while putting together your bid proposal, please reach out to DDA Director Brandon Frye via email bfrye@citylp.com. For any specific questions about the construction drawings, please reach out to Francesca Schovers via email fschovers@giffelswebster.com.
