Library Plaza Landscaping Scope of Services The new Michael Towbes Library Plaza is an urban green space at the heart of Santa Barbara's historic arts district and is an extension of the Santa Barbara Public Library. It encompasses 3 plazas located around the Library that add up to about 37,200 square feet (about 22,100 sq. ft. of "hardscape" - i.e. bricks, cement, etc.; and about 15,100 of "softscape" - i.e. plants, soil coverage/mulch, etc.) - refer to Attachment A- Michael Towbes Library Plaza Photos. The Plaza provides a public meeting space for the community; spaces for public programming such as storytimes, community cultural events, and job, volunteer, and literacy fairs; and rentable venues for meetings, celebrations, and other outdoor events. o Contracted work is to be once per week. o Administration of contracted company must have base of operations within 60 miles of the downtown Central Library. o Strong communication and customer service skills are required of all contracted employees. o Contracted employees are expected to adhere to the Library's Code of Conduct and report any infractions they see while on duty. o Report larger maintenance issues to Library Administration.
