Description: 2024 City of Dixon Drainage Improvements Project on N. Galena Avenue (behind Napa Auto Parts). 6' Manholes, 24" Storm Sewers, Trench Backfill, Rip Rap, & other construction items. General: This project consists of the drainage improvements behind the Napa Auto Parts Store address 713 N. Galena Avenue, located in the City of Dixon, Illinois. The City reserves the right to add or subtract areas and/or their appurtenances within the limits of the Standard Specifications. Costs of any necessary saw cutting as directed by the Engineer shall also be incidental to the pay item for which saw cuts are necessary. No additional compensation will be given and they should be considered incidental to their respected pay items. The Contractor shall coordinate with City officials, Napa Auto Parts and the Engineer on scheduling work that minimizes disruptions with the Napa Auto Parts business. Failure to coordinate work with the City and Napa management, the Contractor will be assessed damages at $1,000 per day. This will help minimize the impact on affected customers and employees of the Napa Auto Parts store. All Trenches shall be filled with compacted Aggregate immediately upon installation of storm sewers, and manholes. The contractor shall maintain these aggregate trenches until the completion of the project. Concrete Collars shall be considered incidental to the Contract. No additional compensation will be made for them. All bidders shall be pre-qualified and in good standing with the Illinois Department of Transportation prior to the bid opening in order to submit a bid proposal. Any bidders found not in compliance on the day of the bid opening with IDOT shall be disqualified from the bidding process.
