The replacement of tanks is to be coordinated so that hot water can be used from at least 1 tank during the transition from existing to new. The existing tanks will be removed and disposed of by the contractor. The two (2) tanks are located at the Criminal Justice Center located at 301 N. 2nd St. in St. Charles. EQUIPMENT Acquire Two (2) Vertical Round Jacketed ASME Tanks. Glass Lined - Model - R*A0650 or equivalent. See Exhibit B SCOPE OF WORK The contractor shall deliver and transport storage tanks into the mechanical room via an existing ramp. o Ramp dimensions - 4' wide, 9' clear height. o Side rails on ramp can be removed. Contractor must reassemble rails if removed. See Exhibit C Drain down the (2) existing Roy E Hansen water storage tanks in the mechanical room and set up rigging materials for their removal and replacement. The contractor is to disconnect piping and electrical from the two (2) existing tanks and remove tanks from the building. Existing tanks and any miscellaneous items related to the replacement of the equipment should be disposed of in a contractor procured dumpster or equivalent. Contractor will be responsible for providing any additional piping and associated parts necessary to make all proper connections and adjustments to connect the new tanks. Any piping or conduit that needs to be moved or re-routed to accommodate the new tanks is the responsibility of the Contractor. Installation of new water tanks will occur one at a time; thus, allowing one existing or new water tank to be operable while the other is installed. Any valves that are necessary to isolate this equipment that are not already in place must be included as part of this project. The contractor is responsible for insulation of pipes to match existing. All work is to be done by licensed plumber and/or pipefitter. All electrical work is to be done by a licensed electrician. Fill storage tanks and check operations. Contractor to remove and dispose of existing Roy E Hansen water storage tanks, piping, and all material related to the removal of old tanks.
