Site work for a civil project in Nashville, North Carolina. Working plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Per Addendum 1 this project was put on hold and postponed indefinitely. This will be re advertised in 2025. The Project consists of the following major items: - Water Supply Well, including site work, water treatment building, well pump, chemical feed equipment, and appurtenances. - Approximately 1,000 lf of 12-inch water main and appurtenances. Bid Security in the amount of five (5) percent of the Bid must accompany each Bid and shall be subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders. A Pre-Bid Meeting will not be held for this project. The Owner is an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourages bidding by small, minority and female contractors and does not discriminate on the basis of handicapped status. Bids from qualified disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) are encouraged. Bidders shall be required to submit with their Bids affidavits of "Good Faith Efforts" in the recruitment of Minority Businesses. For further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all Bids. Unless all Bids are rejected, Award will be made to the lowest responsible Bidder, taking into consideration quality, performance and the time specified in the proposals for the performance of the Contract. A. Well Site #6 1. Existing Well conditions from Pumping Test Record of June 2, 2020: a. Casing Diameter: 8-inches b. Bore Hole = 7.5-inches c. Total Depth: 600 feet. d. Static Water Level: 3 feet below top of casing e. Pumping Water Level: 190 feet below top of casing f. Well Yield: 420 gpm g. Riser pipe: 6-inch galvanized steel 2. Pump & Motor a. Flow Rate: 375 gpm b. Pump Intake Setting: 240 feet c. Total Dynamic Head (TDH): 420 Feet d. Static Head: 380 feet A. Fencing Location 1. Function: Security fence around tank site. 2. Fence Height: 6 feet 3. Provide posts, bottom intermediate and top rails as indicated. Provide corner and brace assemblies. 4. Provide fabric gauges as indicated and install fabric on the outside of fence and anchor to framework such that fabric remains in tension after pulling force is released. Materials and installation methods to provide continuity of vapor barrier. 1. In conjunction with materials described in Section 07210 and 07900. 2. To seal gaps between enclosure components and opening frames. A. Provide the painting required to paint the newly constructed areas under this contract. B. Where new pumps are to be installed, paint the entire piping and pumping system at continuous connection. Where new work is installed within existing, paintings should continue as follows: 1. Continuous Surface: To the nearest intersection. 2. Assembly: Entire Assembly A. Feed system shall be capable of feeding to the following locations: 1. Well Site #6 a. Maximum feed rate = 0.25 gals / hr b. Backpressure = 98 psi B. Feed system shall have the following major components, operational capabilities, and capacities: 1. Chemical Metering Pumps shall be as follows at each site: a. Number required: 2 (two in operation and one for standby.) b. Type: Solenoid Diaphragm c. Voltage: 120 Volt with US plug. d. Pumps shall operate on/off as follows: 1) Pumps shall operate on/off with the operation of the well pump. 2. Day Tank a. Well #6 1) Number required: 1 2) Minimum capacity: 155 gallon 3. Accessories: a. Provide multi-function discharge valve for each metering pump. Valve shall provide the following functions: Anti-syphon, back pressure, pressure relief, air bleed, and drain. b. 50 ml calibration cylinder with ball valve 4. Piping and Valves a. Provide the piping and valves as indicated on the drawings.
