Saving Project...

Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Calgary, Alberta. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

The Project is a transformation of Calgary's Olympic Plaza and the adjacent portion of Stephen Avenue, integrating these outdoor public spaces with the Arts Commons Transformation (ACT) project. The Project is currently in the Schematic Design phase and includes a unique centre feature of the Plaza with a water feature structure and ice rink in the winter months. There is an immediate need to onboard a Design Build partner for the OPT Ice Rink System to work with the Prime Design Consultant, Client and the Construction Manager. The OPT Ice Rink System will be a decagonal ice rink for public skating consisting of both permanently installed components and temporary components (to be set up and dismantled at the beginning and end of each winter skating season). A preliminary project schedule has been developed, with Design Development for the OPT Ice Rink System beginning January 2025 and ending in October 2025. A Design Development Report is expected to be issued April 2025. Construction Drawings are expected to be completed by September 2025. Pavilion structure construction begins in June 2026, while installation of services below grade foundation for the ice rink are expected to be completed in Q4 2027. Commissioning of the ice rink is expected to occur September 2028. Deadline for Proponent Questions: 10 December 2024
