Renovation of a mixed-use development in Plainfield, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 4,000-square-foot educational facility.

The Plainfield Board of Education is seeking proposals to provide full-scope professional services related to the redesign and construction of the cafeteria and kitchen areas of Plainfield Central Middle School, located at 75 Canterbury Road, Plainfield, Connecticut. Plainfield Central Middle School serves approximately 425 students in grades six, seven, and eight. The cafeteria is approximately 4,000 square feet with 17-foot ceilings, while the kitchen is approximately 1,500 square feet with similar ceiling heights. RFP 2024-2 Cost Proposal - Plainfield Central Middle School Kitchen Renovation" Plainfield Public Schools 234 Shepard Hill Road Plainfield CT 06374 The project will be carried out as a collaboration between the PlainfieldBoardofEducation Business Office and the Town of Plainfield. 2. The Contractor selected will be expected to provide continuous technical support throughout the completion of the project. Respondents must have experiencewiththe design and implementation of similar projects for other school districtsandcommunities. Proposals should identify the familiarity with applicablebuildingcodes and Connecticut regulations. The work under this section comprises the furnishing and installation of food service equipment and custom serving counters and sneeze guards as shown on the drawings and herein specified or otherwise noted. Electrical, plumbing, and other work as made necessary by the modifications herein shall be done by licensed tradespeople supplied by Kitchen Equipment Contractor. The scope of each individual project is detailed further in the item specifications below. 1. Coordination of work. It is imperative to facilitate a smooth installation that the KEC closely coordinate its work with Child Nutrition and with Plainfield Public Schools personnel. Coordination should include scheduling of installation to ensure that any trades and installation personnel will not interfere with the normal operation schedules in each school where work is to be performed, and that the jobsite will be ready to accept the food service equipment as indicated in the Contract Documents.
