Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Westmoreland, Tennessee. Completed plans call for the construction of a 6,900-square-foot fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.
The building will provide living quarters for the 4 EMS personnel assigned to the station, on a 4 Shift Rotation. Space is provide for each shift team member to have their own dedicated bed in four separate bunk rooms. County officials have confirmed that the maximum planned staffing will be 4 personnel at anyone time. Shift overlap would temporarily mean 8 staff were in the building for a short duration. The 6,900 sq ft facility in addition to the ambulance parking bay includes medical supplies storage, dayroom and food prep as well as staff fitness, laundry and study areas. There are 4 separate bunk rooms for the on-duty staff each with individual toilet and shower space. The facility will provide an accessible public restroom for occasional visitors to the facility. Dedicated pantry areas are provided for each of the four shifts to store foodstuffs. The structure is classified as Risk Category IV and construction type VB under the applicable building codes. The structure is a concrete slab on grade floor with spread footings supporting the load-bearing CMU clad in brick. The roof is constructed of steel bar joists and steel deck with a insulation and membrane roof. Water is drained to perimeter gutter and downspouts Any questions or requests for clarifications must be received by the Architect before 5:00 pm on Thursday, December 5, 2024, according to Section 002113 Instructions to Bidders, Article 1.5. A portion of the project materials is funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and subject to the State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) Rules and Regulations 31 CFR Part 35 and 2 CFR Part 200. All proposals are subject to the Sumner County Governments conditions and specifications, including federal ARPA guidelines.
