The project consists of: - Verification of existing water service line materials at 179 properties for purposes of determining water service material types at the existing watermain, curb stop, or both as specified. - Replacement of lead service lines where specified. 17 service lines are known to contain lead and approximately 80 replacements total are anticipated and included in the contract documents as the basis for bidding. It is the Township's goal to replace all service lines found to contain lead. Actual number of replacements to be determined by the Township upon review of verification results. Work also includes, but is not limited to, maintenance of traffic and restoration. Contractor shall furnish all material, equipment, labor, and supervision to complete the specified work. The work to be performed under this contract will be paid for with federal funds. Davis Bacon/Prevailing Federal Wages apply to this project. A bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check payable to Benton Charter Township in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total price shall accompany each bid. This surety shall bind the bidder for a period of 90 days after the receipt of bids. The project is intended to follow the following schedule: o Contract Award: January 7, 2025 o Completion of all water service material verification: June 30, 2025 o Substantial and Final Completion (including established grass) October 31, 2025
