Site work for a water / sewer project in Buckeye Lake, Ohio. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

As of September 22, 2025, an engineer has been selected, and this project is in the design phase. Design is projected to be completed by spring 2026. It is anticipated bidding will commence in summer 2026 and construction will start in fall 2026. Construction is anticipated to take about a year. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Hebron Fish Hatchery Water Supply Improvements The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife operates six (6) fish hatcheries in Ohio. The hatcheries are essential to raising quality fish to stock public waters statewide. Without these hatcheries there would be a significant reduction in the number of a variety of fish produced and stocked, leading to a reduction of quality fishing opportunities for Ohio's anglers ODNR intends to procure Architect / Engineering Services for a renovation project at Hebron State Fish Hatchery, located in Licking County. The Project Scope resulted from the "Statewide Fish Hatcheries Assessment and Master Planning" (HDR, 2019) assessment / report. The Project Scope includes installing waterlines that transport water directly from the lake to the hatchery which will reduce delivery time and accumulation of organic matter during transport. Water filtration through the installation of drum filters and a new filter building of this source water is necessary for this source water to further keep undesirable fish and debris from the source water. The original drum filtration system was abandoned in 2012 and inefficient alternative approaches are used instead. In addition, installation of electric service to more ponds, holding house iron filter replacement, replacement of aging pond kettles, updated bio-growth control for piping, and pole barn replacement for storage is needed The historic canal fed by Buckeye Lake has served as the primary water source for the hatchery operations, however the canal capacity has been limited by accumulated sediment. Modifications to the canal and associated structures will require cultural resources coordination ODNR anticipates this project to be completed in phases. It is expected that the selected design firm will develop, in coordination with the Owner, a phased construction plan that will focus on obtaining the maximum portion of the scope that can feasibly be completed by October of 2026. Remaining scope will be completed within the total project duration noted below. Total Project Cost: $8,000,0000 Construction Notice to Proceed: 06 / 26 Professional Services Completed: 05 / 28 Submit all questions regarding this RFQ in writing to Julie Endicott at Engineering@dnr.ohio.gov The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
