Reference Number 0000369439 The City of Eastpointe is seeking professional renovation services from a qualified, licensed and experienced contractor for the Eastpointe Memorial Library, located at 15875 Oak Avenue, south of 9 Mile Road and east of Gratiot Avenue. The renovations are to include the purchase and installation of new furniture, work stations and storage units, as specified in the specifications. The Library is 13,000 square feet and provides services for the residents of Eastpointe and the surrounding communities. Programs occur regularly in the Library proper and in the Community Room. These include events for children, teens, and adults. Programs include story times, book clubs, cooking classes, local history presentations and more. The following is required for the Main Staff Area: Five (5) "L" shaped staff desks with overhead storage, wardrobe cabinet, push pin panel and lighting; Five (5) staff chairs with arms; One (1) task stool with arms; Four (4) free-standing double door storage cabinets. The following is required for the Children's Librarian Craft Storage Room: The installation of a work counter along the outer wall with storage; Upholstered stools; Shelving units with end panels for storage. The following is required for the Staff Kitchen Break Room: Installation of a new sink; Installation of a pull-out garbage under the right side of the counter, where there is an opening; Furniture to include a round table, four chairs and two-person couch. The following is required for the Staff Storage Room: A centrally-located work island with a solid surface top and underneath storage; Two (2) task stools Six (6) double door storage cabinets with adjustable shelving; Six (6) open storage cabinets with adjustable shelving; Three (3) shelving units with end panels for storage. The Library is a place for people to come for meetings, uses resources such as books, newspapers, the Library of Things, and audio-visual materials, as well as being a place where one can study, work on projects, or read by themselves or in groups. Due to seasonal programming at the Library, the renovations must be completed no later than March 15, 2025.
