Restoration & Rehabilitation Projects: Lizzies Trail Inn & the Richardson House Historical Museum. The City of Sierra Madre will require the services of a historic preservation architecture & engineering team for design and construction document development for the following general scope of preservation services, including but not limited to restoring the current rear shed of the Richardson House once used as a working kitchen for Lizzies' Trail Inn and rehabilitating the space into a classroom space for small groups, community gathering area and offices. The aim of this RFP is to contract with a qualified firm that will agree to be available to provide quality, professional services in a timely manner to maximize efficiency. The applicant will submit a fee proposal for performing the phases of this project as described below. Please subdivide the work based on the scope of service below. Reimbursable expenses and hourly rates that occur outside of the described work can be submitted on a separate page in the proposal package. The selected firm shall furnish all expertise, labor, and resources to provide complete services necessary for Work Order(s) issued during the Contract Term. All work orders shall be completed in accordance with the requirements of the agreement. The following summarizes the types of scope of services that the firm may be required to perform. The Consultant will be required to prepare detailed conceptual design drawings of each project for submittal, modification, and approval by the City of Sierra Madre (herein referred to as "Client"). The bid must be accompanied by a bid guarantee in the amount of 10% of the total bid by 3:00 pm. ON THE DATE ADVERTISED FOR THE OPENING OF BIDS. More specifically, pursuant to Public Contract Code 20170 and 20171, all bids for the project shall be presented, under sealed cover and shall be accompanied by one of the following forms of bidder's security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid: (a) cash; (b) a cashier's check made payable to the City of Sierra Madre; (c) a certified check made payable to the City of Sierra Madre; or (d) a bidder's bond executed by an admitted surety insurer, made payable to the City of Sierra Madre. Such security shall be forfeited should the successful bidder to whom the contract is awarded fails to timely execute the contract and to deliver the necessary bonds and insurance certificates as specified in the contract documents.
