Renovation of a fire / police facility in Santa Fe Springs, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.

The work to be done consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and incidentals as required by the Plans and Specifications. The general items of work include, but are not limited to; abatement work per the limited asbestos and lead reports. Removal and disposal of existing carpet, ceiling wall base cove, door & door frame, ceiling light fixtures, wall paper, and janitorial sink. Furnish and install new carpet, wall base cove and ceiling light fixtures. Painting of interior walls and all ceilings. Furnish and install seismic bracing to the existing T-bar system. All questions regarding this bid must be submitted in writing via the City online Portals. Responses to questions will be posted in an Addendum shortly after the period for receiving questions has passed. Submittal of written questions following the meeting is encouraged, and the CITY will determine if a response id warranted. Response to written question will be in the form of a City-issued Addendum as identified elsewhere in the specifications. Attendance at this meeting is mandatory. The CITY will not accept bids from CONTRACTORS that do not attend the meeting. There will be no follow-up pre-bid meeting for any CONTRACTORS whom may be unable to attend this meeting. The local prevailing wages, as determined by the State of California, Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to the provisions of Section 1773.2 of the Labor Code of the State of California are on file at the City Hall, City of Santa Fe Springs, 11710 Telegraph Road, Santa Fe Springs, California 90670, and are available for review by any interested party on request at City Hall. The Contractor for this work shall perform all the basic regulations, requirements and procedures pursuant to the Davis-Bacon Act and related prevailing wage statutes, including Title I of the State and Local Fiscal Assistance Act of 1972. All contractors and subcontractors must furnish electronic certified payroll directly to the Labor Commissioner (aka Division of Labor Standards Enforcement), and to the City of Santa Fe Springs Project Manager. No contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for public work on a public works project (awarded on or after April 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5. Attention is directed to the provisions of Section 1777.5 (Chapter 1411, Statutes of 1968) of the Labor Code concerning the employment of apprentices by the Contractor or any such subcontractor. Affirmative action to ensure against discrimination in employment practices on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, religion or handicap will also be required. The Bid must INCLUDE a certified or cashier's check, or bidder's bond, made payable to the City of Santa Fe Springs as AGENCY, for an amount no less than ten (10) percent of the amount bid. A labor and materials bond and performance bond are prerequisites before contract execution, in the form and amount outlined in the contract documents. The successful bidder shall be licensed under provisions of the Business and Professions Code and shall possess a valid California State Contractor's License B at the time the contract is awarded. The successful Contractor and all subcontractors will also be required to possess business licenses from the City of Santa Fe Springs before the commencement of work. The AGENCY reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularity in any bid received, and to be the sole judge of the merits of the respective bids received and to take all bids under advisement for a period of thirty (30) days. The award, if made, will be made to the lowest responsible bidder as so determined by the AGENCY
