Renovation of a fire / police facility in Dunstable, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
Police Station Windows and Doors Repairs and Replacement. The estimated value is Not to Exceed $65,000. All contracts must be strictly awarded in accordance with the requirements of this Invitation for Bids. The Town of Dunstable has no discretion under the law to consider bids that fail to comply with those requirements, except for minor informalities as permitted by MGL. If it becomes necessary to revise any part of this IFB or otherwise provide additional information, an addendum will be issued to all prospective bidders who received copies of the original request. SCOPE OF WORK WINDOWS 2-picture windows in front of building, 5-single hung windows, 3-double hung windows o Remove siding adjacent to existing windows o Remove and dispose of existing windows and trim (interior and exterior) o Inspect window openings for any rot that may be present o Repair and or replace any rotted wood that may be present in window rough opening o Apply 9" self-adhering waterproofing membrane to plywood on the exterior of the window rough opening o Install new windows according to the manufacturer's specifications with approved fasteners (no nail guns) o Cover window nailing flanges with 4" self-adhering waterproofing membrane o Install new exterior window trim with white window cap flashing and J-channel o Re-install vinyl siding according to the manufacturer's specifications o Apply a low expansion insulating foam to gap around window in rough opening to fill the void. o Install new primed wood trim to interior of window frame (style to be determined) o Paint new window trim (color to be determined) DOORS 2 exterior doors o Remove siding adjacent to existing entry doors o Remove and dispose of existing entry doors and trim (interior and exterior) o Inspect door rough openings for any rot that may be present o Repair and or replace any rotted wood that may be present in door rough openings o Apply 9" waterproofing membrane to plywood on exterior of door rough opening o Install and properly flash a lead pan at the base of the rough opening for the door o Install new door according to the manufacturers specifications with approved fasteners o Apply flashing membrane on door frame covering gap of rough opening o Install new exterior door trim with white window cap flashing and J-channel o Re-install vinyl siding according to manufacturer's specifications o Apply a low expansion insulating foam to gap around the rough opening to fill the void o Install new primed wood trim to interior of door frame (style to be determined) o Paint new door trim (color to be determined) All work must be consistent with state building codes and local requirements. Specifications can be modified only if approved by the Town of Dunstable as being in the best interest of the Town. A 5% bid deposit is required. A 50% payment bond is required and must be submitted with the signed contract. The Town of Dunstable reserves the right to reject any or all bids when it deems to be in the best interest of the Town. A contract award will be made within 30 days after the bid opening. The term of this contract will begin no later than January 21, 2025, and will end March 31, 2025. The contractor is expected to complete the scope of work described below on or before March 31, 2025.
