Site work for a water / sewer project in Buckhorn, Kentucky. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The work to be bid consists of: Witherspoon Way Embankment/Shoulder Project: (37.34883, -83.47612) Embankment/Shoulder of Witherspoon Way, Buckhorn, Kentucky, will be replaced using best construction practices, 41 feet long x 2 feet wide x 5 feet deep. Construction will include excavating 7.59 CY of Unclassified Fill and Install 82 CY of Re- taining Wall-Gabion Baskets to restore the facility back to its pre-disaster function and capacity within the existing footprint while applying best construction practices. The GPS Coordinates of the project location is 37.34883, -83.47612. Contractor shall furnish all materials, equipment, labor, and reclamation necessary to complete the construction of the embankment/shoulder facilities described above and below. Time of completion for the contract is 45 calendar days. Other Requirements: Contractor is required to obtain any necessary Federal, state, and local environmental permits prior to the start of construction. Contractor is to complete repairs utilizing Best Construction Practices. All borrow or fill material must come from pre-existing stockpiles, material reclaimed from maintained roadside ditches (provided the designed width or depth of the ditch is not increased), or commercially procured material from a source existing prior to the event. For any FEMAfunded project requiring the use of a non-commercial source or a commer- cial source that was not permitted to operate prior to the p event (e.g. a new pit, agricultural fields, road ROWs, etc.) in whole or in part, regardless of cost, the contractor must notify the City of Buckhorn, FEMA and the Recipient prior to extracting material. FEMA must review the source for compliance with all applicable federal environmental planning and historic preservation laws and executive orders prior to a subrecipient or their contractor commencing borrow extraction. Consultation and regulatory permitting may be required. Non-compliance with this requirement may jeopardize receipt of federal funding. Documentation of borrow sources utilized is required at closeout. Funding of this project will be provided by the City of Buckhorn through funds made available from FEMA. The city of buckhorn reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
