Renovation of a municipal facility in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The goal of this project is to upgrade the existing Allen Bradley control system, which is no longer supported by Rockwell Automation, to a modern version. This upgrade will replace the PLCs and controllers, as well as update the panic alarm system for the freezer rooms. The new system is expected to improve the performance and adaptability of the refrigeration control system, while also reducing the energy consumption of the building. The project will enable technicians to more effectively monitor, troubleshoot and maintain the equipment. The upgrades will also allow the system to be easily modified if cold rooms are added or removed or if new mechanical equipment is installed. The existing Simplex panic alarm is to be replaced and all freezer rooms are to be connected to a new alarm system that will alarm at the commissionaire desk and provide feedback as to which room number is in alarm.
