This project consists of providing fire protection and electrical construction documents for the replacement of the fire pumps or fire pump controllers at Justice Page MS and Washburn HS: Justice Page Middle School Fire Protection: - Replacement of existing fire pump and fire pump controller - Replacement of existing jockey pump and controller - Demolish and disconnect low-suction controller o Work with the owner and city on what is acceptable to meet current low-suction fire pump requirements. Low-suction controllers are currently not allowed in fire protection systems. Electrical: - Disconnect and remove existing electrical feeder from the switchboard to the controller (The existing power connection to the fire pump is not code compliant, a new feeder from the utility service will be needed) - Coordination with Xcel Energy and owner to add new underground electrical feeder from the utility service to the controller - Provide new feeder from utility service to new fire pump controller, new raceway and conductors from the controller to the fire pump, and new control wiring associated with new fire pump equipment - Make power connections to new jockey pump Washburn High School Fire Protection: - Replacement of existing fire pump controller (existing fire pump to remain as-is) - Replacement of existing jockey pump and controller - Demolish and disconnect low-suction controller o Work with the owner and city on what is acceptable to meet current low-suction fire pump requirements. Low-suction controllers are currently not allowed in fire protection systems. Electrical: - Coordination with Xcel Energy and owner to disconnect and reconnect controller, pumps, modify existing raceway as needed - Disconnection and provide new control wiring and raceway associated with new fire pump equipment - Replace junction box where the 250mcm feeder is tapped with 3/0 to the jockey pump to be replaced with a Type 2 enclosure - Replace the existing motor head enclosure with an approved Type 2 enclosure Bids must be accompanied by a bid deposit of 2% of the total amount bid in the form of a certified check or bidder's corporate surety bond made payable to Special School District No. 1.
