The improvements generally consist of removal and replacement of sidewalk pavement, parking lot pavement, site grading, seeding, and miscellaneous associated work. The successful bidder will honor all requirements of the current Davis-Bacon Federal Wage rates. All companies are to be registered with the "System for Award Management" (SAM) on the official website of the U.S. Government. All employees are to be e-verified to confirm employment eligibility The work under the contract shall commence on or before the date specified in a written "Notice to Proceed" and shall be fully complete by June 30, 2025. A Notice to Proceed is anticipated by March 2025. Liquidated damages in the amount of $500.00 per calendar day will be assessed for each day that the work shall remain uncompleted after the end of the contract period, with due allowance for extensions of the contract period due to conditions beyond control of the Contractor. For bids exceeding $25,000.00, each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier's or certified check, or a credit union certified share draft in a separate sealed envelope in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the proposal. If a bid bond is submitted, it must be on the form provided with the Contract Documents. The successful bidder will honor all requirements of the current Davis-Bacon Federal Wage rates. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and a payment bond on approved forms in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, or other assurance of completion as specified in the General Conditions, said bonds to be issued by a responsible surety approved by Corning Housing Commission, and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all materials and labor and protect and save harmless Corning Housing Commission from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operation of the Contractor.
