The City of Colville, in a given calendar year January 1st through December 31st, purchases traction sand to be applied to City Streets during periods of snow and ice accumulation. In an attempt to reduce PM-10 dust caused by the breakdown of road sand by traffic, a WSDOT Pm-10 certified traction sand is required. Products will be accepted if they are currently on the WSDOT Qualified Products List (QPL). Or have been tested and approved by an accredited lab and test results submitted to the city. All qualifying test results need to be submitted with bid proposal. All tests must be in accordance with AASHTO standards. Questions may be directed to the Street Supervisor at (509) 684-2244. All bids are to be based on a per yard dollar amount and delivery fees to stockpile at the City of Colville. Load tickets from a certified scale will be required to verify load quantities. The City of Colville reserves the right to disregard the delivery fee and pick up the winter maintenance sand.
