Renovation of a library in Escalon, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library.

The project consists of the removal of the existing Library metal roof and replacement with a new metal roof, high temperature underlayment, and flashing. The work includes repairing the existing gutters and cleaning them from roof to discharge point. The work also includes repair of wall damage caused water damage. Wall repair includes the following: . Removal and replacement of drywall, insulation, and damaged framing . Inspection of structural members and downspouts located with the wall . Windows shall be inspected, cleaned and resealed . Painting of wall and ceiling. . Reinstallation of perimeter shelves and other wall fixtures including fire extinguisher and window blinds. Library will remain open during construction. Area of work shall be sectioned of from areas open to the public. After construction activities have been completed, all areas affected by the work shall be deep cleaned and left in an orderly manner. Contractor shall obtain all permits and inspection necessary for the work from the City of Escalon Building Department. Bidders must be prequalified. The City of Escalon requires all bidders on City public works projects requiring a Class B contractor license with a contract value greater than $100,000, or as determined by the City Engineer, must be prequalified as a condition of bidding on said projects. It is mandatory that all contractors who intend to submit bids fully complete the prequalification questionnaire, provide all materials requested, and be approved by the City to be on the final bidders list. No bid will be accepted from a Contractor that has failed to comply with these requirements. Each Bid shall be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier's check, or Bid Bond secured from a surety company satisfactory to the City, the amount of which shall not be less than ten percent (10%) of the submitted Total Bid Price, made payable to City of Escalon as bid security. The bid security shall be provided as a guarantee that within five (5) working days after the City provides the successful bidder the Notice of Award, the successful Bidder will enter into a contract and provide the necessary bonds and certificates of insurance. The bid security will be declared forfeited if the successful Bidder fails to comply within said time. No interest will be paid on funds deposited with City. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Faithful Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price. Each bond shall be in the forms set forth herein, shall be secured from a surety company that meets all State of California bonding requirements, as defined in California Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120, and that is a California admitted surety insurer. Prequalification packages can be obtained at Escalon City Hall or on our website at online. Answers to questions contained in the attached questionnaire, information about current bonding capacity on an aggregate and per project limit, and the most recent reviewed or audited financial statements, with accompanying notes and supplemental information, are required.
