Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Escalon, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

As of May 22, 2025, the project was awarded to Yancy-Gwerder, Inc, with an awarded amount of $954,345.86. The project consists of the installation of ADA compliant sidewalk and curb ramps on Yosemite Avenue from Mitchell Avenue to Elizabeth Avenue. The work includes asphalt, concrete and landscape removal, installation of concrete sidewalks and ADA curb ramps, concrete driveway and landscape connections from existing conditions to proposed sidewalk and concrete valley gutters. Various incidentals including, but not limited to, street sign relocations and adjusting utilities to grade are also included in the work. The existing roadways shall have a 2" asphalt grind over the entire width of the roadways. The project also consists of the abandonment of an existing 10" water line and the installation of a new PVC 10" water line within Yosemite Avenue. The existing water services, meters, and boxes shall be removed and reinstalled throughout both sides of the roadways. The Engineer's Estimate is $1,060,000 Bids must be submitted on the City's Bid Forms. Questions regarding Public Purchase or obtaining bid documents shall be sent to City of Escalon Community Development/Public Works Office (Michele Bates: mbates@cityofescalon.org). Bidders must be prequalified prior to time of bidding. The City of Escalon requires all bidders on City public works projects be prequalified as a condition of bidding on said projects, as determined by the City Engineer. It is mandatory that all contractors who intend to submit bids fully complete the prequalification questionnaire, provide all materials requested, and be approved by the City to be on the final bidders list. No bid will be accepted from a Contractor that has failed to comply with these requirements. Prequalification packages can be obtained at Escalon City Hall or on our website Questions regarding pre-qualification shall be sent to City of Escalon Community Development/Public Works Office (Michele Bates: mbates@cityofescalon.org). Each Bid shall be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier's check, or Bid Bond secured from a surety company satisfactory to the City, the amount of which shall not be less than ten percent (10%) of the submitted Total Bid Price, made payable to City of Escalon as bid security. The bid security shall be provided as a guarantee that within five (5) working days after the City provides the successful bidder the Notice of Award, the successful Bidder will enter into a contract and provide the necessary bonds and certificates of insurance. The bid security will be declared forfeited if the successful Bidder fails to comply within said time. No interest will be paid on funds deposited with City. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Faithful Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price. Each bond shall be in the forms set forth herein, shall be secured from a surety company that meets all State of California bonding requirements, as defined in California Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120, and that is a California admitted surety insurer.
