This Invitation for Bids seeks sealed bids to 1) remove the current security fence around one building and move it to a designated area on-site and 2) install 2,130 linear feet of new 8-foot black vinyl-coated chain link security fencing. The project is located at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport Assembly, Integration and Test Facility, in Temperanceville, Virginia on the Eastern Shore. All work associated with this solicitation shall be completed no later than 2/28/2025. STATEMENT OF NEED The bidder will be required to: 1. Remove approximately 1,200 linear feet of the current security fence around the tent and store it in an owner-approved location on-site. This fencing is located around the structure in Lease Parcel 1 as shown in Attachment C - AIT Building 1 Site Plan. 2. Install a new security fence, totaling 2,130 linear feet and ten (10) Standard Emergency Egress Gates as shown in Attachment C - AIT Building. 1 Site Plan. The fence shall meet the following specifications: a. Fabric: The standard fence fabric shall be black coated vinyl chain link with mesh openings not larger than two inches per side and a twisted and barbed selvage at top and bottom. b. Fabric Ties: Only 11-guage steel ties shall be used. Coating or plating will be electrolytically compatible with the fence fabric to inhibit corrosion. c. Reinforcement: Tension wiresshall be installed and interwoven (or affixed with fabric ties) along the top & bottom of the fence for stabilization of the fence fabric. d. Fence Height: Chain link fabric shall be 8' high with an additional 1' in height composed of 3 strands of barbed wire. e. Ground Clearance: Bottom ofthe fence fabric shall be within two inches offirm grade. f. Top Guards: A top guard is an overhang of barbed wire along the top of the fence, facing outward, (away from protected site) and upward at approximately 45 angle. Top guard supporting arms will be permanently affixed to the top of the fence posts to increase the overall height of the fence at least 1 foot.
