Site work for a civil project in Norfolk, Nebraska. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
1. This project consists of: 1. Transfer Pump Replacement including salvage of existing transfer pump, demolition of existing suction and discharge lateral piping, valves, and appurtenances, and installation up upsized 4,400 gpm transfer pump with new suction and discharge lateral piping, valves, and appurtenances. This work includes adjustable frequency drive for pump. 2. Installation and connections required for redundant 24-inch diameter transfer pump discharge pipe and valving from the transfer pumps discharge header to the treated water storage tank(s). 3. Reaction basin to filter connection expansion including installation of 30" above and below grade piping with mechanical insulation, connection to existing 24" basin bypass line, and basin wall pipe penetration. 4. Zone 1 High Service Pump HSP-2 Replacement including salvage of existing high service pump, demolition of existing suction and discharge lateral piping, valves, and appurtenances, and installation up upsized 6,000 gpm high service pump with new suction and discharge lateral piping, valves, and appurtenances. This work includes adjustable frequency drive for pump. (Bid Alternate A). 5. Zone 2 High Service Pump additional pump installation up upsized 2,200 gpm zone 2 high service pump with new suction and discharge lateral piping, valves, and appurtenances connection to existing stubbed out piping. This work includes adjustable frequency drive for pump. (Bid Alternate A). 6. Installation and connections required for redundant 24-inch high service pump discharge pipe and valving from the Zone 1 high service pumps discharge header to the Zone 1 water main's bifurcation into dual 24-inch mains on South 49th Street. This includes installation of 6-foot diameter flow meter manhole and flow meter assembly. (Bid Alternate A). 7. Installation of upsized air handling unit in the existing electrical room. .Questions should be directed via email to Tim Engemoen, Black & Veatch Engineering Manager atEngemoenTW@bv.com. The bid security (i.e. bid bond or certified check) as outlined in Articles Iand III of these specifications shall be submitted in a separate envelope along with the proposal. The bid security shall be clearly marked and accessible without needing to open the envelope containing the proposal. Any proposal that does not have bid security as outlined above will not be accepted and is subject to rejection." Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check on a bank whose deposits are insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in the amount of 5% of the total bid price and must be payable without condition to the Treasurer, City of Norfolk, Nebraska, as evidence of good faith of the bidder and as agreed liquidated damages in case the bidder whose proposal is accepted by the City of Norfolk fails to enter into contract within ten (10) days from the Notice of the Award or fails to furnish acceptable bond to complete the work and pay for all labor and materials used, said bond to be in the amount of 100% of the total bid price. The City of Norfolk, Nebraska ,reserves the right to waive informalities and to reject any or all bids.
