The Town of Simsbury isseeking to engage the services of a Consulting Engineering firm to provide inspection services for the following transportation project: Curtiss Park Trail, Federal Aid Project No. 0315 (001). The project will include the construction of approximately 3,000 linear feet bituminous concrete multiuse trail which will run along the north side of Tariffville Road, over an existing sidewalk on the Tariffville Road bridge crossing the Farmington River, to Curtiss/Pattison Parks. A boardwalk section will be constructed within and adjacent to wetlands within the Farmington River riparian corridor and within an alluvial floodplain adjacent to the Farmington River. The projected construction cost is expected to be in the range of $1,800,000 with construction anticipated to begin June 1, 2025 with an estimated duration of 213 days. Proof of coverage must be submitted prior to the start of the negotiations process. The inspection fee will be negotiated on a cost-plus fixed fee basis to the awarded firm, and if no agreement is reached, the Town of Simsbury will move to the 2 nd most qualified firm. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
