Renovation of a transportation facility in Kennewick, Washington. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility.
The Three Rivers Transit Building is utilized by Ben Franklin Transit to provide customer service to the public. Currently the front entrance to the building is not ADA accessible. This project would modify the existing door and hardware and prep the area to install an ADA Actuator to allow for increased functionality for members of the public with access concerns. Work on Three Rivers ADA Door Upgrade is to be completed within sixty (60) working days from notice of award. Once demolition work has begun, Contractor is responsible for keeping the building secured and work completed quickly with little impact to the public or building access. The time from demolition to installation shall be no more than 5 working days and shall be consistent days. If additional time is required, Contractor shall submit a clarification question or ask at the pre-bid meeting. During the demolition time and completion of the door, Contractor is responsible to make the door area secure. Detailed information regarding materials and specs for the project are located in the attached plans and drawings. BFT may exercise the Option to extend for up to three (3) months and this may be done in days or monthly increments, if agreed upon by both parties in writing. Conditions for Bonds: If Contractor chooses bonds in lieu of Retainage: Payment and Performance bonds for 100% of the maximum Contract Award Amount of Not to Exceed $25,000 shall be furnished for the work, using the Payment Bond and Performance Bond form published by and available from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) - form A312 (or current version of the same). Prior to execution of a Change Order that, cumulatively with previous Change Orders, increases the Contract Award Amount by 15% or more, the Contractor shall provide either new payment and performance bonds for the revised Contract Sum, or riders to the existing Payment and Performance bonds increasing the amount of the bonds. The Contractor shall likewise provide additional bonds or riders when subsequent Change Orders increase the Contract Sum by 15% or more. The Surety must possess a minimum rating from A.M. Best Company of A: VII. Also, the surety or co-sureties should be listed as acceptable surety on federal bonds by the US Department of Treasury. Estimated Award Date: January 13, 2025 Contract will be awarded to the most responsive and responsible based who provided the lowest overall bid cost. If an agreement can not be met or Contractor needs to withdraw their bid, then BFT may enter into Contract with the next lowest Bidder. BFT reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities and minor irregularities in bids received. This IFB may be cancelled and any and all bids may be rejected in whole or in part when it is in the best interest of BFT.
