Reference Number 0000370906 Job Location: Fountain, CO Fountain Sanitation District needs to replace an old 8" clay sanitary sewer line in Illinois Ave., Fountain CO from Main Street to the Peaks N Pines Brewery (near railroad) early next summer with a 12" SDR-35 pipe, with additional 8" replacement with 8" SDR-35 in Race Street to catch grade. The District is requesting bids from contractors with experience in this type of work. See the existing sanitary sewer flow chart on the cover of the CD's. Remove and replace approximately 820-feet +/- of 8" dia. Vitrified Clay Pipe (VCP) with an 8" & 12" dia. SDR-35 pipe. An estimated six (6) service lines will have to be reconnected to the proposed pipe. The inverts of two (2) existing manholes will need to be modified to accept a new water-tight seal for the 12" PVC pipe. One (1) new 6' Dia. manhole installed. Also, during construction the contractor will be required to pump raw wastewater from the upstream manhole to the downstream manhole, with a backup pump. Best management practices should be used to keep soil out of the storm drainage inlets. Any damaged asphalt will need to be replaced per City of Fountain requirements. The scope of work described above is intended for general overall project work and is not all inclusive of the work that will be required to complete the project by the contractor.
