Renovation of a municipal facility in Ottawa, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
To provide all labour, equipment and materials for the skylight, roof, soffit and gutter repairs at the City Hall Heritage Building at 110 Laurier Avenue, West Ottawa Ontario. 1 The City Hall Heritage Building received formal recognition by the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada in 1974 and is officially designated as a National Historic Site of Canada. It is also officially listed on the City's municipal heritage register as a designated building under Part IV of the OHA, exhibiting both cultural and historic value. All subject work shall follow the minimalist intervention approach whenever possible. 2 Provide the necessary labour and materials to complete the specified work herein: .1 Roofing: replace all damaged, dislodged and/or missing slate tiles. Conduct miscellaneous reinstatement repairs of existing copper ridge cap flashings. 2 Perimeter Cornice/Gutter: resoldering of all copper sheet metal seams throughout the cornice assembly around the entire building perimeter, including associated downspouts. Conduct isolated patch repairs to copper sheet metal with new leadcoated copper sheet metal and replacement of missing/damaged fasteners. Incorporate a provision for expansion within the cornice assembly to reduce differential movement stresses. Resecure/replace localized areas of dislodged wood soffit planking and/or accent piping elements. The replacement, under allowance, of encountered supporting dimensional wood members within the cornice assembly cavity found to be excessively deteriorated. 3 Skylight: Remove and replace the existing skylight, maintaining a similar aesthetic. New skylight to have a condensation tray. Tie-in the skylight to the adjacent roofing system to ensure a leak free system. Repair/replace deteriorated wood elements in the lightwell below the skylight. Repaint the lightwell. 4 Masonry: The reinstatement, under allowance, of a single finial/apex stone assembly on a north elevation gable dormer feature. This work shall be completed by Keystone Traditional Masonry Inc. Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
