Renovation of a library in Johnstown, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library.

Learning Landscape - Contract 3 - Electrical Construction - Phase 2 The work includes, but is not limited to, Phase 1 General Construction: the demolition of the existing landscaping, paving, handrails, concrete stairs and construction of new hardscape paving, landscaping, anchored site furnishings, retaining wall and subsurface conduit to the area west of the building. Phase 2 General Construction: the demolition of existing landscaping, paving, sidewalks, and construction of new hardscape paving, landscape, anchored site furniture, anchored play equipment, new canopy above main entrance, new pavilion, and retaining wall to the area east and south of the building. Phase 2 Electrical: demolition of some existing exterior lighting and providing new building accent lighting, exterior wall sconces, pavilion lighting, site lighting and new parking lot lighting. Hazardous materials are not known to be present on the site. Bids will be received on a Stipulated Sum basis, including unit prices, alternates and allowances, in accordance with the Summary of Work as described in the Contract Documents. and Engineer will be present. No additional pre-bid conferences will be scheduled. The Project schedule anticipates an approximate contract date of February 12, 2025, for Phase 1 and Phase 2 contracts, with an anticipated start date of April 15, 2025, with Phase 1 General Construction Substantially Completed within 120 calendar days for Owner occupancy and completed and ready for final payment within 150 calendar days after the date when the contract time commences to run. Phase 2 General Construction and Electrical Construction will commence in the fall of 2025 or spring of 2026 after Phase 2 grant funding is confirmed and be Substantially Completed within 150 calendar days for Owner occupancy and completed and ready for final payment within 160 calendar days after the date the notification to proceed with construction. Phase 2 contracts will include contingency allowances to anticipate cost escalation expected between the bid date and the commencement of Phase 2 construction. This is a public works project and state prevailing wages as determined by the New York State Department of Labor must be paid. Provisions for prevailing wages are set forth in this Bid Manual. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the Bid must accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and a payment bond, each in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price Certified Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (M/WBE) contracting firms are encouraged to consider this project. Bidders shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work within the Contract Time. The Johnstown Public Library reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities in the Bids received, or to reject any or all Bids without explanation.
