Insulated joints must be assembled within a controlled factory environment. Insulated joints must consist of a minimum 6-hole joint assembly. Insulated joints must comply with the requirements of the current AREMA MRE Chapter 4 Specifications for Bonded Insulation Rail Joints. Insulated joints must be fabricated from material which meets or exceeds the mechanical properties and workmanship requirements of the current AREMA MRE Chapter 4 Specification for Quenched Carbon Steel Joint Bars, Microalloyed Joint Bars and Forged Compromise Joint Bars. Official bid documents must be obtained from www.metrolinx.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
