Renovation of a museum in Oroville, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a museum.
*As of February 27, 2025, the project was awarded to CMA Painting Inc, but the awarded amount is not available.** The City of Oroville is seeking an experienced and qualified construction, rehabilitation, and painting vendor to provide painting and dry rot repair services. Work includes repainting the exterior of the Lott House and its adjacent buildings. This includes the main house, the covered patio, the caretaker's residence, the carriage house, the shed, and the gazebo. The work also includes the repair and replacement of any dry rot on the main house. The C. F. Lott House was built in 1856 and now functions as a City of Oroville Museum and Park. In recent years the house has developed wood rot that needs to be repaired for the structural integrity of the house and its longevity. The exterior paint is chipping and needs to be replaced. This project will ensure the house maintains its integrity and improves its aesthetic appearance for the benefit of the City and its visitors. It is expected that the contracted party will prepare the Lott House and its surrounding buildings for painting and paint them with a high-quality paint. It is also expected that any visible signs of wood rot and any wood rot the project reveals will be removed and replaced with historically accurate material. The materials used in the repairs must be the same or similar to those used in its original construction. It is unknown if hazardous materials, including but not limited to lead-based paint, are present in the building. Proposals will be required to include two bid totals, one that assumes there is no hazardous material, and one that assumes there is hazardous material. This way, all bidders will provide comprehensive and comparable proposals while acknowledging the potential risks.
