Description

Site work and paving for a road / highway in Marietta, Ohio. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

As of October 7, 2025, this project is in planning and study phase. Engineer information has not been determined. A consultant is studying the corridor in order to develop design alternatives. It is anticipated that construction will begin in 2027. This project will enhance safety and reduce crashes along two miles of an important freight and logistics corridor on State Route 7 between Marietta and Belpre. The proposed project has three main components: • Access management and safety improvements, including the potential reduction of access points along State Route 7 and potential conversion of other access points to right turn in/right turn out only • Construction of infrastructure to allow for future testing and deployment of connected and automated vehicle technology • Expansion of the Central Ohio River Information System (CORIS) that displays individual port information along with an Automatic Identification System (AIS) receiver network allowing users to see boat movements on the Ohio River for scheduled deliveries
