Renovation of a detention facility in Saint Louis, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.
Location: Emergency Generator Replacement, Central Michigan Correctional Facility; St. Louis, Michigan The Work Emergency Generator Replacement for Central Michigan Correctional Facility, DTMB File No. 472/23474.IND includes, but is not necessarily limited to: Install a new emergency generator, automatic transfer switch, and all other associated equipment for the back-up power system. The generator and ATS is pre-purchased by MDOC. Contractor is responsible for installation per the plans, in addition providing and installing all other new equipment shown. A new aboveground diesel fuel tank has been installed by others, but the contractor will need to connect it to the new generator system. The new generator room is to be converted from a storage room at the maintenance building. The existing generator and all accessories are to be removed once the new generator is operational. Careful consideration is required to reduce power and back-up power downtime due to equipment cut overs. Temporary generators are to be provided by the contractor any time the permanent power and/or back-up power system is not operational. A new day tank must be constructed in a pre-project phase
