Site work and paving for a road / highway in Meriden, Connecticut. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
It is proposed to reconfigure I-91 southbound to provide an additional operational lane between Interchanges 18 and 19, widen the existing off-ramp from I-91 southbound to I-691 westbound (Interchange 18) to provide two lanes, and provide a new two-lane off-ramp from I-91 southbound to Route 15 southbound. Additionally, the I-691 eastbound to the Route 15 southbound (Interchange 10) on-ramp will be widened to provide to two lanes. As of March 24, 2025, this project is in the 2025-2029 ConnDOT Transportation Transportation Infrastructure Capital Plan. Further information regarding a design firm and timeline for construction has not yet been established. Funding is allotted for FY 2025 and 2029. Interchange Improvements - Nb & Nb to Wb (B/o of 79-240) Town - Meriden Route - I-91/i-691/rt 15 As of January 02, 2025, the Project is in Conceptual Status. Anticipated Letting 2027. CTDOT: Interchange Improvements - I-91/I-691/RT 15 *Project information has been obtained through a public state transportation improvement plan (STIP). A STIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the STIP often evolves based on funding availability.
