As of July 08, 2025, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established. The City of Meriden, CT is soliciting sealed electronic bids in seeking the services of a contractor to furnish labor and materials to construct a multi-use linear trail along the western side of Research Parkway from East Main Street and the Wallingford Town Line Each bid shall be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bid Bond in the amount of Ten (10%) percent of the amount bid. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, to award any item, group of items, or total bid, and to waive informality or technical defects, if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Meriden. No bidder may withdraw its bid within ninety (90) days of the date of the bid opening. Labor and Material Payment Bond and a Performance Bond for One Hundred Percent (100%) of the contract price, with a corporate surety approved by the City of Meriden, will be required of the lowest responsible bidder. The attention of bidders is directed to the requirement for minimum wage rates to be paid under this contract. The bidder agrees that 9% of the final contract value shall be performed by Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) certified by the Connecticut Department of Transportation as a sub-contractor or owner-operator of construction equipment. The Bidder must indicate with their Bid the DBE firm(s) it intends to utilize to meet the above state percentage and submit the Pre-Award DBE Commitment Approval Request with the bid forms. The DBE pre-award forms can be found/obtained online. The City of Meriden is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
