A timeline for award has not yet been established.** Each bid shall be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bid Bond in the amount of Ten (10%) percent of the amount bid. This project includes, but is not limited to, reconstruction of the running track and the installation of an artificial turf athletic field at Orville H. Platt High School. The project includes the replacement in-situ of the 8 lane running track and the installation of a combination soccer/football artificial turf field. Labor and Material Payment Bond and a Performance Bond for One Hundred Percent (100%) of the contract price, with a corporate surety approved by the City of Meriden, will be required of the lowest responsible bidder. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids in whole or in part, to award any item, or total bid, and to waive informality or technical defects, if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Meriden. This contract is subject to state set-aside and contract compliance requirements. The attention of bidders is directed to the requirement for minimum wage rates to be paid under this contract. Please note: No firm may bid on a contract which is estimated to cost more than $500,000 unless the firm is prequalified with the State of Connecticut. (C.G.S. 4b-91 as amended) Each bid submitted for a contract must include a copy of the bidders prequalification certificate, issued by the DAS, showing that the bidder has the prequalification classification for Sitework; and aggregate work capacity rating required under such contracts. All lower tier subcontractors with contracts in excess of $500,000 must be pre-qualified in the applicable classification at the time of performance of their work. In addition to the documents required in the bid, an update statement MUST be included. Failure to supply these documents will result in rejection of the bid.
