The City invites qualified vendors to submit Bids to accept various types of scrap metal for recycling from the Allentown Recycling Drop-Off Center (Drop-Off Center) and from the City of Allentown's departments and facilities (City facilities). Questions regarding electronic submissions are welcome via email through Purchasing@allentownpa.gov. Question Deadline 01/16/2025 at 4:00 PM ET Email All Questions To online The City will deliver the scrap metal from the Drop-Off Center and City facilities to the contracted vendor using roll-off containers, tractor-trailers, flat bed trailers, dump trucks and/or pick-up trucks. The contracted vendor shall own and operate, at their facility, a state certified scale of enough capacity and precision to accurately weigh roll-off containers. A copy of the State certification should be submitted with the vendor's bid response. The City reserves the right to enter into one or more contracts for the acceptance of one or more various types of scrap metal for recycling if it is in the best interest of the City.
