Renovation of a municipal facility in Thomasville, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

** As of March 19, 2025 project not yet awarded.** The Project includes the following as indicated on the drawings: Mechanical Contractor to act as General Contractor for this HVAC renovation project. HVAC Renovation Base Bid includes Demolition & Replacement of existing Boiler, Pumps & Piping insulation - with a Bid Alternate to include New Control System for existing System of FCU and AHUs. Note that Mechanical Contractor is required to subcontract a Licensed Electrical Contractor for all required Electrical Work. Note: Replacement of the remaining Mechanical equipment (FCU, AHU, etc.) indicated on Mechanical Drawings is work to be done in the Future and not part of this project. Proposals shall be received for a Single Prime contract for HVAC Renovation. HVAC Renovation on Colonial Drive building, 211 West Colonial Drive, Thomasville, NC 27292. All Contractors and Subcontractors must have all required construction licenses under North Carolina State laws governing their respective trades. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check drawn on a bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in an amount equal to not less than 5% of the proposal. In lieu thereof, a bidder may offer a bid bond of 5% of the bid, executed by a surety company licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute such bonds, conditioned that the surety will, upon demand forthwith make payment to the Obligee upon said bond, if the bidder fails to execute the contract in accordance with the bid bond. Upon failure to forthwith make payment, the surety will pay to the Obligee an amount equal to the amount of said bond. Said deposit shall be retained by the Owner as liquidated damages in the event of failure of the successful bidder to execute the contract within ten days after the award, or to give satisfactory surety as required by law. (General Statutes of North Carolina, C0143, Article 85 - 129). Bonds: Separate Performance and Payment Bond will NOT be required Payments will be made at ninety five percent (95%) of approved monthly applications until a maximum of two and one half percent (2.5%) total retainage is reached at 50% completion per N.C.G.S. 143-134.1 (b1)-through (e). Final Certificates and payment will be issued upon acceptance of the work as complete No bid may be withdrawn after time set for receiving bids for a period of forty-five (45) days. Owner reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any or all proposals. Pre- bid notes: Attendance is highly recommended for project clarity and to satisfy Contractor's "Good Faith Effort" in recruiting MBE participation. Doc Notes: Additional sets of plans and specifications may be obtained by prime contractors but also must be purchased. NO REFUND WILL BE GIVEN FOR COSTS OF SETS PURCHASED. Contractors may contact ACCENT IMAGING of Hickory, NC at 828-322-5050 for placing orders for extra sets. After 3 January 2025 , complete plans, specifications, and contract documents will be available for inspection on the Architect's office and their website at online under the "Bidding Projects" tab or in the following offices: RAMSAY BURGIN SMITH ARCHITECTS, INC., 225 N. Main Street, Suite 501, Salisbury, NC; DAVIDSON COUNTY PURCHASING DEPT, 925 North Main Street, Lexington, NC. Additional sets of plans and specifications may be obtained by prime contractors but also must be purchased. NO REFUND WILL BE GIVEN FOR COSTS OF SETS PURCHASED.
