The project scope consists of renovation and remodeling of the laundry room and related facilities at the Nehalem Valley Care Center, a 50-bed skilled nursing facility in Wheeler, Oregon. Start of construction is as soon as possible on award of successful bid. Questions about this project can be directed to the same email. 1. An entry doorway to one side ofthe Care Center laundry room must be enlarged, widened to a minimum of 42 inches, a width that will allow installation of new, larger equipment. This work will require a new fire door to be installed. 2. A wall and countertop directly in front ofthe dryers will be removed in order to allow full access to the new machines. Without these modifications, and with the installation of new equipment the laundry area would not be in compliance with relevant fire and safety codes. . A new doorway will need to be created in the existing wall to comply with code egress regulations. It is the District's intention to not remove the wall entirely, since vapor pipes, electrical conduit, and load bearing supports would then need to be moved. 4. The concrete pad the dryers sit on will require expansion to accommodate the new machines. 5. Walls and floor will require some minor repair and painting. 6. The architect's sketch and photos accompanying this solicitation illustrate the needed modifications and the District will schedule, prior to the deadline for receipt of proposals and bids, a tour for interested parties who may wish to understand the scope more completely.
