Reference Number 0000372090 South Suburban Park and Recreation District ("SSPRD"), in partnership with the City of Sheridan (Sheridan), is seeking a highly qualified, capable landscape architecture firm to perform planning, design, engineering and public engagement services for the development of a new trailhead along Bear Creek at 3600 S. Federal Boulevard (the "Project"). Sheridan purchased the 1.4-acre property in January 2024. SSPRD and Sheridan are jointly developing the Project and both entities will be involved in design decisions. SSPRD provides parks and recreation services for the City of Sheridan. SSPRD is the contracting entity responsible for project and contract management. The selected consultant will be issued South Suburban's professional services agreement. The Project includes public engagement, planning, entitlements, design, and engineering services with final deliverables of construction drawings and specifications for development. The following tasks are expected from the selected consultant: Coordinate of public engagement and outreach for the project, including collaboration with Groundwork Denver, Sheridan's youth-focused environmental nonprofit partner. All outreach materials must be provided in English and Spanish. Provide boundary, topographic, improvement and SUE surveys. Develop a program and site plan for approval by the SSPRD Board of Directors and review by the Sheridan City Council. Prepare 50% and 100% conceptual design, schematic design and design development drawings and narratives. Prepare 50%, 95% and 100% and construction drawings and specifications. Prepare cost estimates for 100% conceptual, schematic and design development, and 50% construction drawings. Prepare rezoning and subdivision applications, with assistance by Sheridan staff, to appropriately rezone and legally subdivide the property in compliance with Sheridan's zoning and subdivision codes. Ensure compliance with applicable SSPRD, Sheridan and MHFD requirements. Ensure access modifications to the site and proposed work within the S. Federal Blvd. and/or US-285 right-of-way comply with Sheridan and CDOT requirements. Federal Blvd. is a state highway (CO-88). Source and manage all subconsultant services (e.g. survey, civil/electrical/structural engineering, environmental, etc.) required. Obtain necessary approvals, permits, and permissions, including floodplain development permits from Sheridan and MHFD. The entire site is within the floodplain. Coordinate and manage ongoing bi-monthly meetings, monthly progress reports, and project schedule. Prepare quantities and calculations for bidding the Project. Provide construction administration services.
