Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Alcoa, Tennessee. Completed plans call for site work for a 1,200,000-square-foot parking garage; parking garage; for the demolition of a parking garage; and for paving for a 3,500-space parking garage.
TYS McGhee Tyson Parking Garage Bid Package #2 is for the PARCS equipment replacement of the Airport Property and New equipment for the TYS Parking Garage Expansion Project. As of July 17, 2025, this bid package has been awarded and is currently underway. The initial bid package commenced construction November 2024. Summary Project Description: This project consists of the following: 1. Site: Stripping and preparing existing site for new construction, including loop road modifications. 2. Building: Parking garage designed for the McGhee Tyson Airport and the Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority. The open garage has 6 levels of parking to be constructed utilizing cast in place concrete under construction type 1A. The façade is made up of vertical aluminum louvers and a gradient glass panel rainscreen system. The garage will include a parking management system, rental car facilities, short- and long-term parking and support spaces. A small office for the parking management team is also included on site. The value listed is that of the total project value. Although a firm timeline has not been confirmed, construction is not expected to start prior to May 2025. Total project completion is expected in 2027.
