Renovation of a stadium in Ottawa, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a stadium.
1. Roof Areas # B (B1-B4) & C are to be replaced under this program. Refer to City of Ottawa drawings attached, dated June, 2024, refer to Roof Plans - KP-1 through RP-5 2. Replace existing roof system with new - Soprema, IKO or Johns Manville roof system, as identified in the specifications - refer to attached specification. Confirm structural deck in applicable roof area. 3. Facility-This facility will remain fully operational for the duration of the project. All services outside of the scope of work throughout the facility must remain fully operational. This includes but is not limited to: electrical services, mechanical services, natural gas services, plumbing services, etc. Prime Contractor must include for temporary connections of any service which will be disrupted by the contract works of this project. 4. Staging Area: Prime Contractor to set-up all required temporary fencing to completely enclose and secure the set-up/staging/hoisting area. Prime Contractor is fully responsible for the safety and security of this area. If equipment (i.e. mechanical units) are to be stored within this area, Prime Contractor must ensure all items are secured and safe from theft, vandalism, etc. 5. Interior Protection: Prime Contractor to supply and install all required interior protection below all roof areas to ensure full and complete shelter of all interior items and surfaces. Prime Contractor to move/re-locate all interior items (i.e. furniture, equipment, fixtures, electronics, etc.) to complete the interior protection. Prime Contractor to complete full interior clean-up upon completion of roofing operations and return all items to original locations and condition. 6. Remove and discard all "not-in-use" roof details as determined by the Project Manager. Confirm all "not-in-use details with facility manager. 7. Prime Contractor MUST remove all existing screw fasteners with a drill where existing. No damage to the existing fasteners or deck will be tolerated. 8. Install new perimeter construction detailing (i.e. parapets, control/expansion joints, walls, etc.) refer to typical detailing. Prime Contractor shall be responsible to construct all new perimeter detailing as per the contract documents to achieve all requirements as described.. Prime Contractor must review and confirm all site conditions prior to pre- constructing any new perimeter detailing. 9 Seismic Engineering: Prime Contractor to retain services of a professional structural engineer licensed in the Province of Ontario to review and approve seismic gas line sleeper detailing, locations and quantities as noted herein. Engineer to provide stamped shop drawings for seismic gas line sleepers (new & existing), indicating construction, locations, quantities, etc. Prime Contractor to include for any additional seismic gas line sleeper locations as determined by structural engineer. Upon completion of seismic gas line sleeper installations, stamped certified letter indicating acceptance of all works completed under this scope of work to be provided by the same engineer. 10. Structural Works (Existing Hatch Ladder Modifications): Prime Contractor to retain services of qualified sub-contractor(s) to complete the modifications and extension of the existing roof hatch access ladder as per applicable detail. All works to be completed as per current OBC codes, regulations and guidelines. The Roofing Contractor shall be fully responsible for the acts, performance and omissions of its sub-contractor(s) and their employees or agents. Roofing Contractor to retain services of a professional structural engineer, licensed in the Province of Ontario, to provide stamped shop drawings for the existing roof hatch access ladder modifications. Shop drawings to indicate but not be limited to: ladder fabrication components and dimensions, ladder finishes, ladder connection details, etc. Upon completion of installations, stamped certified letter indicating acceptance of all works to be issued by the same engineer. Scope of work to be completed to full satisfaction and sole discretion of the City of Ottawa A bid deposit of ten percent (10%) of the Contract Price, in the form of an electronic bid bond, is required with this RFT. The electronic bid bond must meet the requirements set out in (b) below. The Bidder agrees that should the Bid be withdrawn within the stated Bid Acceptance Period, the Bid deposit may be forfeited to the City. No interest shall be payable on any bid deposit. Performance security will be required from the successful Bidder prior to the execution of a Contract or the issuance of a purchase order. Such performance security will be a Performance and a Labour and Material Payment Bond each in the amount of fifty percent (50%) of the Contract Price from a surety company in a form that is acceptable to the City. The performance security will be retained until completion of the Contract to the satisfaction of the City. The performance security amount may be reduced at various stages of the project, at the discretion of the City. Commercial General Liability insurance issued on an occurrence basis for an amount of not less than $5,000,000 per occurrence for all sums which the Contractor shall become obligated to pay by reason of liability imposed by law upon the Contractor for damages arising out of or in connection with all operations of the Contractor, its agents, officers, employees or other persons for whom the Contractor is legally responsible relating to their obligations with the project. Such insurance shall include, but is not limited to, bodily injury, death and property damage including loss of use: premises, property and operations liability; products and broad form completed operations liability; blanket contractual liability; cross liability; severability of interest clause; contingent employers liability; personal injury liability; owner's and contractor's protective coverage; non-owned automobile liability; broad form property damage; occurrence property damage; employees as additional Insured & medical payments.
