Birch Run Area Schools is soliciting RFPs for a Public Address System at their High School, Middle School, and Elementary School locations. Hybrid PA System Features as Required - All Schools New runs of 4 conductor wire (one pair for speaker, one pair to be utilized for a call button later if needed) District-wide notification capabilities for alerts and all call New Speakers - Add Speakers as indicated in the provided diagram New Head End - New Head End shall be in the school's MDF and logical IDFS The system should support analog and SIP connections for intercom access and management of future Analog and IP endpoints. This system should have no recurring licensing or charge for standard firmware updates. This system should not be proprietary. Mandatory line item strobe pricing. Alternate line item for RGB strobe pricing. Alternate line item for Cellular input. List warranty coverage of material and installation Alternate line item for additional warranty coverage of material Training of building administrators, secretarial staff, and technology staff should be included. Proposals must include all materials, labor, installation, configuration, and training costs. Birch Run High School Public Address System It has been determined that the existing cabling is not suitable for reuse. The existing head-end equipment shall be removed. All cables are to be replaced, all speakers shall be tested and reconnected. A new zone is to be installed to provide exterior public address horn coverage for the building exterior. This new zone shall be individually addressable, this will allow for inclusion and exclusion from bell schedules and configured all-call pages. Birch Run Middle School Public Address System It has been determined that the existing speakers and cabling are not suitable for reuse. The existing head-end equipment shall be removed. All cables are to be replaced, all speakers shall be replaced. A new zone is to be installed to provide exterior public address horn coverage for the building exterior. This new zone shall be individually addressable, this will allow for inclusion and exclusion from bell schedules and configured all-call pages. This new zone shall be individually addressable, this will allow for inclusion and exclusion from bell schedules and configured all-call pages. For all proposals in the amount of $50,000 or more: 1. Security may be a certified check, bank draft irrevocable bank letter or credit or surety bond in the amount of 5% of the project price to secure the District from loss or damage by reason of withdrawal or by failure of the bidder to enter into a contract if the bid is accepted. 2. All bidders must be bondable and shall include in the Proposal the cost of furnishing Labor and Material Payment and Performance Bonds each in the payable amount of 100% of the proposed bidding sum. The bonds shall hold Birch Run Area School as the oblige. A surety authorized by the State of Michigan must issue bonds. The surety must be listed on the current Federal Register. Failure to meet these requirements shall be cause for rejection of the bond.
