A. The work specified herein shall be the abatement of asbestos-containing materials by persons who are knowledgeable, qualified, and trained in the removal, treatment, handling, and disposal of asbestos-containing material, and the subsequent cleaning of the affected environment. The Contractor shall have a Competent Person in control on the job site at all times during asbestos abatement work. This person must comply with applicable Federal, State and Local regulations which mandate work practices, and be capable of performing the work of this contract. B. The Contractor shall be licensed by the State of Connecticut in accordance with State of Connecticut Regulations, Sections 20-440-1 through 9 & 20-441. The asbestos supervisor and workers shall be licensed by the State of Connecticut in accordance with State of Connecticut Regulations, Sections 20-437 and 20-438. Should any portion of the work be subcontracted, the subcontractor must also be licensed in accordance with these regulations. The licensing requirements are available from the Environmental Health Services Division, Department of Public Health, 410 Capitol Avenue, MS#51AIR, P.O. Box 340308, Hartford, CT 06134. The selected CONTRACTOR will provide equipment and services per project plans and specifications. All work to be performed during school 2025 scheduled summer break.
