As of April 3, 2025, per owner, they have identified a design and construction team, the project is currently underway with completion goal by end of May 2025. The City of Mauldin is seeking proposals from qualified contractors for the design, construction and installation of a permanent stage cover for an existing outdoor stage located at the Mauldin Cultural Center. The successful contractor will be required to complete the work in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations. BACKGROUND For over 10 years, the Mauldin Outdoor Amphitheater located at the Mauldin Cultural Center has been home to City events and festivals welcoming over 20,000 guests annually. Hosting more than 25 events per year, the amphitheater has been a catalyst for tourism in the City providing exciting and accessible experiences for guests of all ages. In September 2024, the amphitheater stage was hit by a falling tree during Hurricane Helene, destroying the stage cover and damaging the fascia of the stage. The City is seeking qualified contractors to replace the stage cover which will allow for the continuation of safe and effective stage use for concerts and performances, all while elevating the overall experience for the community and tourists Question Deadline 01/15/2025 Questions should be emailed to Gina McAtee, Special Projects Manager, at gmcatee@mauldincitysc.com. The City is requesting a steel structure that has load-bearing capacity to hang rigging for speakers and lights for concerts. The structure footers shall be installed on the outside of the pre-existing stage. The structure shall be equipped with basic house lighting that is switch controlled. Anticipated project budget to remain under $400,000. Pre-existing stage measurements (Exhibit A) and photos (Exhibit B) are attached. Notice of Award February 18, 2025 (no earlier than) Project Start Date Immediately following Notice of Award o The City of Mauldin reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to negotiate with the successful bidder, and to make awards in the best interest of the City. o To be eligible for consideration, bids must comply with the laws of the State of South Carolina and the Procurement Policy of the City of Mauldin, South Carolina. o Upon receiving the "Notice of Award," the successful proposer has ten (10) calendar days to meet with the City to discuss any problems or questions pertaining to the project. The successful proposer shall submit all required bonds, insurance, permits and licenses prior to start date. o Prices and specifications submitted remain valid without change for the duration of the contract period unless otherwise stipulated in the proposal.
