Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Palm Bay, Florida. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.
There is a need to construct a permanent facility for Engine 6 crews. Currently there is no Fire Station 6. Construction of a permanent facility will establish a hardened building to house fire rescue personnel and equipment servicing the Southwest section of the city. The most significant impact is inability to house expensive apparatus that is continually subjected to the elements. This also causes concern for security of apparatus and equipment which is open to theft. There will also be a facility that will not need to be evacuated during significant weather events. The land is currently owned by the City of Palm Bay and earmarked for a fire station. As of December 16, 2025, this project is included in the City's FY 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and funding is allotted for construction in FY 2028, FY 2029, FY 2030. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
