This project is no longer moving forward. Powhatan County, located about 20 miles west of Richmond, has historically been a rural community. To preserve its rural character, the County is interested in the process of converting several main road medians (Route 60) into wildflower medians. The County is looking to convert about 10 acres of median over 13 miles into wildflower habitat. The County will be working with VDOT in a formal process to complete a Comprehensive Roadside Management Plan. To ensure the County is planning and budgeting appropriately for this project, the County requests information regarding this project. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes. No award will be made from this RFI, and the respondents will not receive any preference if/when the County solicits for the project. Responses to the RFI will not be returned. Respondents are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. it is anticipated that the project could commence in the fall of 2025, with completion in the spring of 2026, or start in the spring of 2026 and end in the fall of 2026. Powhatan County reserves the right to adjust this timeline as necessary.
